July 6th and 7th

We woke to the sound of Tennessee bumblebees attempting to pierce-bomb the tent. Luckily, they failed, although they did manage to harass Morena throughout breakfast! We had a casual morning playing frisbee, hacky-sack and gradually packing up for the next leg of the trip.

Most of the day was a drive straight north up through Kentucky and just into Indiana for our next destination--Burdette Park in Evansville, Indiana. Vince will be attending a day of soccer camp Sunday at Evansville University--a highly reputable D1 soccer school. In the meantime, we are camping out in Burdette Park.

We found a spot with lots of space and got set up, but didn't have much time to explore. The highlight was a night-cap of ice cream at a local diner called "West Siders."

The next morning was a chance to hit the water park right here at the campground. You might have images of a flaky, dirty Motel pool with a rusty slide. But actually this was the real deal with Hawaiin Falls size water slides, diving boards, and some big pools.
